This is a new photography project that I'm finding very interesting because it aggregates the faces found in a particular location in a particular city at any one time and merges them to create a 'average' face. The website is a little primitive but it's an interesting way to document the effects of globalization on a city. Go out there and take 100 photographs to send to the creator and see what the average Singaporean looks like!
An ad for 大眾銀行, a taiwan bank, creatively directed by Ogilvy. The storyline is somewhat similar to Hollywood's Wild Hog, although this has a more real-life treatment. Enjoy!
| Artists Wanted | In Focus : Pete Eckert (Lo-Speed) from Artists Wanted on Vimeo.
Pete Eckert is a totally blind person. But through his photography, he proves that he IS a visual person, he just can't see. Artists Wanted is proud to present this truly inspiring portrait of the artist.
"Food is one part, love is another part. So, the food will give them physical nutrition. The love and affection which you show, will give them mental nutrition." (CNN Hero Narayanan Krishnan) His trust fund provides food for 400 indigent and elderly people.
"I recall one of my great mentors, Chip Maury, a veteran combat photographer and professor at Syracuse University told me “If you would like to learn more about being a great photojournalist, try looking at comic books or picking up a book on cinematography. The same goes if you are a young cinematographer, try picking up a book on photojournalism.” Remember the key to both of these traits is being a great storyteller, not someone who knows all the technical details about photography."
Why Cinematography and Photography have a lot in common by Erika Barker.
Heineken has launched a new advertising campaign introducing the “Open Your World” tag line. Very nice camera work but even more amazing is the concept of having backstories of all the characters featured in the 90 secs clip, thus reinforcing the tagline! (Plus a very catchy song..)
Petronas has just launched their annual Chinese New Year campaign with a commercial highlighting the importance of family bonds and filial piety. Simple stories, real characters and an emotive narrative are all it takes to send a powerful message.
