Hi KL,

the crux is to have passengers move in.

to have varying lengths of cabins and serve diff classes, is expensive for train companies to conduct overhaul in short term

and also, th ehuman element, or the SG spirit of being too lazy to move even if they enter @ the 'wrong' cabin, unless its punishable by law if they dnt move to the right class of cabin.

To DT: i love ur 'make driving tests harder' and to add to tt... insist there's some elements of defensive driving etc, also to increase realism in their test stds... to have a sense of wat real driving is like on SG roads

The MRT can add more cabins what. Platform short doesn't mean carriages need to be same length. Just board from another door and move in lor.

Its a bit of a rush coz lunch time is almost over.
But, DT this is truly an insightful post about matters tt concern the layperson.
And if u dnt mind, I shall (have already) shared this on my facebook wall.

I do wish to contest your views on the public tpt tiering system, but in the interest of brevity, I shall just summarise that , its very much inefficient both in terms of cost and optimising load capacity by tier. Especially when rides are relatively short in Sg (e.g.: Boon Lay to Sengkang, 1.5 hrs). To further complicate integration of such a suggestion, it will involve collaboration across 2 Tpt companies. But I welcome having this discussion brought offline, together with your other points, for a more robust debate - which undoubtedly will leave us all, much wiser even without any discernible outputs.

Hey guys,

It's indeed a troubling matter; beyond making more $, its simply trying to 'outrace' the inevitable devaluing of our, already miserly amt of savings.

Hope you can share the findings, or even welcome me for your discussions on this life-n-death issue. Cheers, =)
